Achievements aren't just measured by outcomes - they're also about the journey to reach them.
This race was booked pre Wales UTS and despite the pain, the rehab has been been going well and I wanted to see where I was two weeks down the line and post scans. My mountain running days are over but I'm hopeful that my running days aren't.
As painful as it was from about mile 9 it didn't get to the levels of Wales and I was able to complete the distance. Yes, I was about an hour forty five off where I expected to be on this race, but with the 6,500 feet of elevation and running through the night in a heavily technical wooded environment I was happy with the outcome and it gives me something to build on for October.
